Situated on the Spanish border in the Pyrénées Orientales, the monastery is made up of a farmhouse – a large stone and earthen house typical of this region – and small hermitages scattered throughout the forest of mainly holm and cork oaks. The last four sisters of the Hermites of Mary community, who have been praying there for 70 years, wanted monastic life to continue here. In February 2018, at the invitation of the Bishop of Perpignan-Elne, Monsignor Turini, and the Hermites of Mary, a small community of sisters from Bethlehem came to live in communion with them. The two communities are living together and experiencing this ecclesial adventure with joy and thanksgiving. Today, we are three Hermits of Mary sisters and eight sisters from Bethlehem.
