The History of our Monastery

Situated between land and sky, in the shadow of Monte Santu, in the heart of wild, unspoilt scrubland, the Assunta Gloriosa monastery is set in a majestic landscape. To the west, the Aiguilles de Bavella rise up with strength and grandeur. To the south, the site overlooks the Thyrrenian Sea, which stretches as far as the eye can see.

This geographical context is particularly favourable to a life of poverty and evangelical solitude reminiscent of that of the solitary monks of the Eastern deserts.
