In 1978, at the request of Monsignor Marty, Cardinal Archbishop of Paris, the community moved to Place Victor Hugo, in the former church of Saint Honoré d’Eylau. Despite the noisy urban environment, the fourteen nuns who make up the current community live a true life of prayer and silence. The monastery is open to all during liturgical services and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, which is the form of hospitality that can be offered in this monastery ‘in the city’. The handicrafts produced by the Paris community are on display in the nearby shop (icons and medals), where you can also find the various handicrafts from each monastery of the Bethlehem Monastic Family. The last week of November is traditionally a sales exhibition in the monastery itself, which serves as an ‘Open House’. Monastère Notre-Dame de la Présence de Dieu
